Corneal Scar

 

The cornea is resilient and can typically heal from minor abrasions. Major corneal damage can result in scars which can be caused by:

 

1) Improper use of contact lenses

2) Deep scratches secondary to trauma 

3) Burns

4) Exposure keratitis

5) Diseases such as herpes and syphilis

 

These corneal scars can impair one’s vision.
